Artist: Hendrik Jan van Lummel (1815 – 1877)
In 1857, teacher Hendrik Jan van Lummel developed a series of 48 pictures. Van Lummel drew the plates himself and wrote the manuals. These were published by Kemink en Zoon from Utrecht. The second series of 35 plates appeared in 1862. In total, Van Lummel made more than 150 plates divided into four series: In and around our house, Agriculture and livestock farming, In the animal world and Trade and business. After his death in 1877, his work was continued by Josef Hoevenaar.
